Our club has grown massively since a series of public meetings in March 2005 led to the its formation in April of that year. Our club is parish based in the twin communities of Maree and Oranmore and our function is to provide association football in a structured, organised and disciplined way to the youth in our community. Season 2007 / 2008 saw club membership top the 400 mark with sides from U-6 up to and including U-13 level. We hope to build on the significant progress made as our older sides compete in the Galway & District Football League. The development of Girls Soccer in the community is a particular interest and goal of our club and we look forward to more girls joining us for our Training sessions in the season ahead. The club would welcome more parental help as all our teams are looked after on a purely voluntary basis. If you are willing to help, we would love to hear from you. We thank all those who have given up their time to help us.

 Club Ethos

The main aim of our club is to encourage our members to participate in all forms of sporting activity and we are committed to the development of a healthy community in Maree and Oranmore. We will not place any obstacles in front of our players, nor will we exert pressure on our members in their sporting choices. Each of our members has signed a Code of Conduct and we insist on adherence to this Code both on and off the pitch.

How it all started

Maree Oranmore Juvenile Soccer Club was established following a series of public meeting in February / March 2005 to determine the level of interest in the community for childrens soccer. The original idea was floated by Joe Broder who contacted severl local residents including the then Maree curate Fr. Adrian McGrath, Liam O’Carroll, Tom Broderick and Martin Horgan amongst others. The impetus generated at the public meetings (one of which attracted over 100 parents to the Oranmore Lodge Hotel) led to the formation of a working committee to move things forward. An open day in April 2005 attracted over 200 children and thus the beginnings of a properly structured parish, community based club began. Soccer has been palyed in the parish for many decades. The Junior club was founded in 1989 with great volunteer effort and enthusiam from many  locals including the late Brendan Carney and Paul Cowell (RIP). Oranbay 90 Junior club also started up to meet the needs of its members. Maree Oranmore Juvenile Soccer club is based on the entire parish community of Maree Oranmore. As an organisation the club works closely with all other sporting / community groups in the parish for the greater good of all. It is hoped that by 2012 the club will field teams from u6 all the way through to minor age groups. At present at 9 boys and 3 girls groups are up and running. The club aims to provide soccer among the young people of the community in a structured, organised and disciplined way, for the enjoyment of all who represent our club and community.

Origin of Club Crest

The Club Crest was designed by Nicholas Sheehan, A pupil of Scoil Iosaf Naofa Boys National School as part of a primary schools competition to design a club crest appropriate to the parish. It shows the features of the Castle and the Well representing local landmarks, and the sail / fishing tradition of the parish.
